个人简介
编辑Gavin Blakey, DTM, OAM 是 Toastmasters International 2002–2003 年度国际主席，也是首位澳大利亚籍国际主席、北美以外第三位。他 1982 年 2 月加入昆士兰 Townsville 的 Tropic City Toastmasters（年仅 21 岁），入会原因是工程专业毕业前必须向教授和同学做技术报告、吓得魂飞魄散。他任布里斯班市议会主任工程师，并面向澳洲精英运动员提供沟通训练，长期志愿服务昆士兰癌症基金会与 Greening Australia，2014 年前后因"在 100 多个国家推进沟通与领导力发展"获澳洲勋章（OAM）。
Blakey 1994 年起任国际董事，后任第三/第二/高级副总裁，2002 年就任国际主席，任期主题 "Bringing Out the Best in People"。任内他强调"每个会员拿下 CTM""每位 area governor 至少促成一家新俱乐部"，会员约 185,000、覆盖 70 多国；他全年旅行约 4 个月访问各大区。名言："The payment I receive for being president is the satisfaction of knowing that I may make a small difference to others, that I have helped them to be the best they can be."
